In 1998, the Fuentes Family decided to create Bodegas Finca Río Negro, recovering the famous but extinct winemaking tradition since the arrival of phylloxera to the region in 1920. It is located in the village of Cogolludo, in the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park.

The high altitude of 1,000 meters makes us one of the highest vineyards from our latitude to northern Europe. This, combined with the distance of 60 km to the nearest vineyard, gives us a unique and particular “terroir”.

We only use grapes from our own and ecological vineyard, carrying out manual harvest and selection and the entire production process on the property.
